Our new volunteer initiative with All Nations International Development Agency (ANIDA) will be taking place on Thursday, October 15th. Our shift will be from 9:30am-1:30pm. Their location is 4401 Steeles Avenue West.

The team will start out in the board room for a short orientation session, which is located on the right-hand side of the building where the offices are, and then they will head to the foodbank which is located on the left side of the parking lot.

Our shift will begin at 9:30am, please arrive 10-15mins earlier.

Location: We are located at 4401 Steeles Ave W, Toronto. Enter the parking lot from Norfinch; the food bank is on the south side of the building, visible on the left side of the parking lot upon entrance. We will be having a short orientation first, then head to the Food Bank. Please see directional signs that will help lead you to the Boardroom.

 

Parking: Free, ample parking is available. Please Park anywhere except in the designated spots closest to the food bank, which are reserved for Food Bank Clients.

 

Attire: Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (no open-toe sandals or high heels). Be prepared for some lifting and handling of food items, which can get messy

 

Protective Gear: Masks and gloves will be provided.

 

Food: We provide volunteers with water, and there is a kitchen available for coffee/tea as well. There is a fridge available to leave your food inside. Vending machines are available in the building for purchase, and there are a few nearby food options (Tim Hortons/McDonalds) if you’d like to grab something if you take a small break.Donations:  Volunteers are welcome to bring and donate any needed food items with you on your Corporate Volunteer Day.  Please see list of acceptable donation food items:High-protein items: canned fish, canned chicken or turkey, beans, lentils, peanut butter Canned vegetables: corn, peas, carrots, green beans – for vitamins and fiber Canned fruits (in juice, not syrup) – for natural sugars and vitamin C Canned tomatoes – versatile for cooking, rich in vitamins and antioxidants Canned soups or stews (low sodium, with vegetables and protein) – easy meal options

Here We Go!

We are so excited that AGCO is joining Campfire Circle for a volunteer event on February 26 & October 29. It’s going to be an action-packed day filled with camp traditions, impactful stories, and hands-on projects to support children with serious illness and their and families across Ontario.

A few helpful reminders for your visit:

·       Additional underground parking in the nearby FreshCo parking lot

·       Easily accessible by nearby TTC bus and streetcar stops

What to bring/wear:

·       Casual, comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy

·       A reusable water bottle

·       In consideration of the population we serve, we ask that all participants self-assess for infectious symptoms or exposures before leaving home.

Please complete the requested waiver by February 19th so Campfire can have accurate head count.

During your visit, please also:

·       Sign in at registration upon arrival

·       Refrain from smoking anywhere on camp property
